Harbourfront Eye Care is proud to offer an expanded scope of dry eye care.

Do you suffer from dry eye?
Common symptoms may include dryness, discomfort, watery eyes, and redness of the eyes.
It is estimated that 25% of the Canadian population suffers from dry eye disease.

New advanced treatment and diagnostic devices have significantly improved our ability to treat and manage dry eye disease.

Digital device usage and associated dry eye disease has become increasingly common in recent years across all age groups. Dry eye disease (also known as ocular surface disease) has been shown to impact productivity, reduce sleep quality and lower subjective happiness.

During your specialized dry eye assessment, your doctor will diagnose the type of dry eye, and create an individualized treatment and management plan.

Dry Eye Treatment

iLux is an advanced handheld technology used to treat meibomian gland dysfunction. It uses breakthrough thermal pressure that can alleviate dry eye-related discomfort in as little as one session. iLux is a safe and effective treatment comparable to LipiFlow. iLux unblocks obstructed meibomian glands by applying warm heat and gentle compression to the eyelids. This clears out the blocked glands to relieve you of dry eye discomfort by improving the quality of your tears. In conjunction with other dry eye therapy, patients can find up to a year of relief from symptoms following iLux.

BlephEx is a precise and safe procedure used to treat blepharitis by reducing bacterial load and demodex mites in eyelids.

With BlephEx, our doctors are able to perform a very efficient and thorough cleaning of the eyelid margin with lasting effect.Medically known as Microblepharoexfoliation, this gentle 15 minute in-office treatment allows for a rapid restoration of the healthy lid surface by exfoliating with a medical grade micro-sponge. BlephEx is repeated at a scheduled interval of 3-6 months for optimal results and may be paired with iLux.
